Burn The Ships and Hail Mary’s…it’s never been so true for crafting online..

Files under Uncategorized | 1 Comment
Now if you are looking to start up your crafting business online you should read Ed Dale’s excellent blog post. It is aimed at those looking to start online internet marketing businesses but it is totally relevant to whatever online business you might be thinking of starting, especially crafting online…

Ed talks about the best way to start up an online business and re-enforces the idea that I tell you again and again, start selling online in a small way, do it while you are still earning your main income from your day job.

The transition to full time online crafter can be made, it really can, but you don’t dive in at the deep end, you have to earn your stripes firsGet learn how to get started selling online and then refine your selling processes to the point that they are making you a profit, in a small way at first, then you can look to grow.

Anyhoo, have a read of Ed’s article, it is rock solid good advice for crafters looking to get started online.

Happy crafting!

If you want to sell more crafts, sell crafts in more places…

It seems an obvious idea but if you want to sell more of your crafts online then sell your crafts on more websites!

There are the obvious choices, Ebay, Etsy, Folksy and of course your own website or blog.

But look further afield. Here is a crafts site that looks good, seems quite US based but don’t let that put you off.

http://www.madeitmyself.com/

Us your UK-ness as part of your selling point and to your advantage.

Don’t just stick to the obvious websites, search online for more craft selling websites, there are lots of them.

It makes perfect sense that if you have your crafts showing on 10 websites instead of 3 you will sell more stuff.

Please do email or comment to let me know of other craft selling websites that you might know of, I will list them here for everyone to see.

The Best iPad Blogging App

I use wordpress for my blogging but the interface is horrible. I haven’t used the app but have only heard bad things about it. In a busy world any extra hassle in doing a task is a barrier that gets in the way of productivity. Blogging needs to be a quick and flowing process that allows you to think and be creative nit be bogged down b the technology of the thing! Sadly using wordpress that has always been my experience, even though I do think wordpress is fantastic as an open source idea.

So I will be checking out is app as it looks great for blogging on the iPad. I will report back and let you know how I get on with it.
